Yes, I'm Still Alive ;-)

Time sure does get away from me! I've been meaning to post but it's been busy around here!

My parents came for a visit for a week, which was wonderful!! They've gone back home now and things are getting back to normal. Well, as normal as they get.

While they were here my Mom helped me get Kate's quilt done! Here's a picture of the quilt before we sewed down the binding:


The light in the photo is a little funny since the sun was setting but you can get the idea. The batting is wool from her sheep, made into a quilt batt. It was great to quilt after we split it in half--at its full thickness it was so thick that I couldn't control the machine!

I'm thrilled with it and I hope she will be, too.

I just heard that my killer hat has done its job and taken out my Yarnsmackdown opponent!



The little color sample in the top corner is more accurate than the color of the hat--in bright sunlight my camera was having a hard time with the color balance.

Quick post

I have a TON of things I want to blog about but I can't seem to get my act together.

In the mean time, here are some pictures of some flowers in the front bed:





We even have snapdragons in bloom!! It's incredibly windy today (after two days of rain for a total of maybe 5" -- that's what was in the garbage can when I dumped it the other day) so I haven't gotten pics yet but I will soon.

The powers-that-be cancelled school today because so many roads were flooded that they were worried about busses being able to get kids to school, so that's added to the chaos around here.
